AAS Announces New Associate Editors at Journal of Surgical Research

A professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Mark Holterman, MD, provides instruction to students studying surgery and pediatric topics. To keep well-informed of current trends in his specialty, Dr. Mark Holterman belongs to a number of professional organizations, including the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS).

AAS recently announced three new additions to the associate editor ranks of the Journal of Surgical Research. Rebecca S. Sippel, MD, will handle the editorial duties for the Endocrine Surgery section of the journal. She is currently the Chief of the Division of Endocrine Surgery at the University of Wisconsin.
The Surgical Education and Career Development section will see Roy Phitayakorn, MD, MHPE, take over associate editorial duties. Dr. Phitayakorn serves in educational roles at the Massachusetts General Hospital and as an educator at Harvard Medical School. Lastly, Dr. Dawn M. Coleman will be the new associate editor of the Vascular Surgery section of the journal. She is an associate professor at the University of Michigan.
