ADA’s 77th Scientific Sessions

Pediatric surgeon Dr. Mark Holterman has won numerous awards and honors. A member of the American Diabetic Association (ADA), Mark Holterman, MD, was a recipient of the association’s Innovative Research Award recognizing excellence in diabetes research.

ADA works to make a positive impact on millions of people with diabetes through research funding, services, information dissemination, and advocacy. The nonprofit will be holding its 77th Scientific Sessions at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, on June 9-13, 2017. The five day annual event will draw close to 18,000 attendees from every state and more than 100 countries.

Participants have access to and can choose from over 2,500 original research presentations, which include oral abstract sessions, symposia, interest group discussions, meet the expert sessions, and poster presentations. Attendees, which include clinicians and researchers, can focus on their specialties as the program is structured into eight theme areas such as Clinical Diabetes/Therapeutics, Immunology/Transplantation, and Acute and Chronic Complications.
Up to 35 Continuing Education Credits can be earned at the event. There are also numerous opportunities to network and more than 150 exhibitors will present the latest products and services for diabetes treatment and management.
